The Library has developed a new online service which will electronically
deliver any article requested from the pre-1990 print journals held in the ANU
Print Repository or the Hancock Library. Library users can make requests for
articles by submitting an online form, which is available from the catalogue
entry for the journals included in the service.
So far the service has been very popular. Since it began operating in early
April, there have been over 1000 requests for articles. On average this is about
ten articles per day.
The service was developed to enable staff and students to have easy access to
articles in journals which were relocated to the ANU Print Repository or were in
the process of being relocated there. Although the Library provides online
access to over 70,000 electronic journals, there are still many journals that
are not available in digital format.
How do I request articles?
A request form is available from within the Library catalogue. Journals that
are included in the service will have their catalogue entries annotated with the
words ‘ANU Print Repository’. Clicking on this link will take you to the request
form. After submitting a completed request form, you will be emailed a link to
your article or emailed your article as an attachment. Requests will normally be
processed within 24 hours of receipt. Requests are not processed on weekends or
public holidays.
