A number of staff working in Information Services have been given awards by
the Vice Chancellor.
Murray Napier: Career Achievement Award. In his 22 years at
ANU, Murray has made an outstanding contribution to the development and
continuance of institutional infrastructure. His commitment has ensured the
delivery of high-quality technical services in shared environments for teaching
and learning.
Gabrielle Hoffman: Innovation & Excellence in Service
Quality Award. Gaby has demonstrated a commitment to excellence through her work
in network security, which has provided significant benefits to the University
in protecting its digital assets and information infrastructure from internal
and external attacks.
Matthew Burgess: Individual Prize for Innovative IT
Application on Campus. Matthew has designed and developed software to better
deliver up-to-date information to students and staff. InfoScreens provide an
effective means of communicating information, and his innovative software design
is simple and easy for staff to update.
Andrew Wellington and Daniel Rodwell: Team Prize for
Innovative IT Application on Campus. Andrew and Daniel were commended for their
innovative approach to overcoming problems associated with using a large single
computer to store staff and student data. Their design has resulted in easier
storage, access and retrieval of data for staff and students.
Stuart Hay: Medallion for 25 Years of Service. Stuart, a
member of ANU Photography, was awarded a Medallion for 25 years of service. He
has provided photographic services in support of the research, teaching and
public relations functions of the University.
