The ANU wireless network operates across campus, including
coverage in all main Library buildings, Union Court, the Law courtyard and the
Copland courtyard. The wireless network is available for use by ANU students and
staff between 6am and midnight, 7 days a week. New areas are coming online
regularly,
and some areas have walk-up ports that you can connect to with an ethernet
cable.
To use the wireless network you will need:
A laptop or PDA with built-in 802.11b or 802.11g
wireless capability or a laptop and plug-in 802.11b or 802.11g wireless network
card.

You will need to configure your laptop to obtain an IP address and DNS server
address automatically.
To do this on a Windows XP laptop:
Go to Start> Control Panel> Network
Connection> Wireless Network Connection> General> Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP)> Properties
Confirm that ‘Obtain an IP address automatically’ and

Make sure that wireless networking is activated on
your laptop
Once it is activated, start a web browser and go to any
web page. Your browser will then connect to the secure ANU Wireless logon page

Login User button. If your login is successful, you will be redirected to your
web page. If you have javascript enabled on your browser, a logout window will
pop-up
You may need to authenticate a second time for the ANU

If you do not see the login page, try turning off any
web proxy settings in your browser
