Address Book

The ANUmail Address Book allows you to search for any ANU e-mail address (both staff and students), and make your own convenient list of contacts. This list enables you to insert an e-mail address into a New Message window, or to create a new e-mail simply by clicking on the e-mail address that appears in your list of contacts.

You can add a new contact into your address book in several ways;

  • Click the New Contact tab in the top left-hand corner. This will open the New Contact window.
  • Enter the details in the Add Contact section at the bottom of the screen
  • Search for a contact and add them

  • Work & Home street addresses
  • Online contact / Instant messaging details
  • Birthday & anniversary dates

5.2 New Group

Setting up a Group enables you to e-mail everyone in that group without having to individually enter their e-mail addresses.

To set up a group, click New Group, and the following window will open;

You’ll need to create a name for the group. You can also add a description, a web address and Calendar address if necessary.

To add members to the group, click Add. Your list of personal contacts will appear. Check the boxes of the ones you want to add to the group and click OK. Their names will now appear in the “Group Members” box.

Once you have chosen all the contacts for your group list, click Save and the group will now appear in your address book contacts list:

Notice that the newly-created group “Big Bosses” has a different icon than individual contacts.

5.3 Search

Other than looking at the alphabetical View list, you can also do a search for a particular person.

address_search

Type the name you are looking for in the Search for box, and choose either Personal Address Book or Corporate directory, which is a directory of all ANU e-mail addresses.

Once you click Search you will get the Search results window:

address_search_results

From this window, you can;

  • send an email to the correct person by clicking on their e-mail address.
  • Add the person to your Address Book by clicking the checkbox on the left, then clicking “Add to Personal Address Book”. That person will now appear in your list of contacts.
