Division of Information Structure
Program Areas
The Enterprise Systems (ES) Program is responsible for developing and
supporting the University's enterprise systems. Staff in ES work closely with
administrative and academic areas to develop, implement and support systems that
meet the University's business needs.
University Records is responsible for ensuring the effective management of
the University's records and archives. A record within the Australian National
University may be held or created using many different media and formats such as
paper files, maps, drawings, computer disks, tapes, or multi-media.
Digital Resource Services carry out projects related to the acquisition,
storage, retrieval and dissemination of data. They created and manage the ANU's
institutional repository: Demetrius.
The Space Services Program attends to teaching and learning environments on
campus, providing a wide range of infrastructure services and support to the
University community. To assist in providing a high quality clean environment we
have a policy of no food or drink in these rooms. Bottled water is an exception.
Systems and Desktop Services' mission is to provide service to the University
community in support of teaching and learning, research and administration,
through leadership in the development and delivery of innovative computing and
information technology solutions.
The Networks and Communications Program (NetComms) of the Division of
Information (DoI) is responsible for delivering the University's networking and
telecommunications applications and services to research, teaching and learning,
administration and outreach functions and users of the University.
The mission of the Library is to achieve excellence in the provision and
promotion of information services to meet the research, teaching and learning
needs of the University. To meet these needs the Library provides access to an
extensive range of information resources both electronically and in print.

With the rapid development of information and communication technologies, the
scope and diversity of information used in the learning process has become
enormous. Developing the skills, knowledge and fluency to effectively utilise
this information is a major challenge for all students. This group of learning
outcomes is currently referred to as "information literacy".
The ANU Archives Program incorporates both the University Archives, the
university's own archives, and the Noel Butlin Archives Centre which collects
archives of business, trade unions, professional associations and industry
bodies. The Pacific Research Archives is a new collecting initiative.
The ANU Supercomputer Facility (ANUSF) provides advanced computing support to
computational science, engineering, social science and the humanities. Advanced
