One staff member should be identified as the custodian of each functional address/ID. Functional email addresses may be used jointly by others who are undertaking the function for which the address was created. This is at the discretion of the custodian. The custodian is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the use to which the functional address is put and the activities of anyone to whom the custodian grants access. The custodian should be informed of the obligations associated with the functional email address and of the process for transferring custodianship to anyone acting in their position. Each area should maintain a local record of the functional addresses issued to that area and identify a person who has responsibility for their maintenance. All persons using the functional email address are bound by the University IT rules and conditions of use policies. Director, Information Technology Services |
