Levels of Access

Author

Available to all DOI staff. Authors can create and update information on the web site.

Authors with Delegation 5.8a* can publish directly to the web. Authors without the delgation should submit their content to an Approver for publication.

Approver

Available to DOI staff with Delegation 5.8a*. Approvers publish content on behalf of Authors who do not have delegation 5.8a.

Approvers have all the rights of an Author as well as being able to approve items for publication.

Guardian

Generally DOI Outreach staff. Guardians are responsible for overseeing the entire site and so have the same rights as authors and approvers plus the ability to manage menus, the home page and all content.

Administrator

Generally DOI Outreach staff. Administrators have full rights to all functions in the system for the purpose of performing administrative tasks such as providing Editor access and restoring and managing content.

*Delegation 5.8a allows staff to approve and/or publish “Material relating to and issuing from budget unit, including content of website of budget unit or area of responsibility” (http://info.anu.edu.au/OVC/Delegations/By_Category/_delegations_files/mac.asp)

Each business area is responsible for managing who has delegation 5.8a. Budget Unit Heads have this delegation by default. Access to Publish is not restricted within the Editor. Users need to follow the business rule of only using the Publish option if they have delegation 5.8a.
