Information Services@ANU > Virus protection Virus protectionLiterally thousands of virus-infected emails are blocked from the ANU network every single day. Viruses can destroy hard drives and wreak havoc on a grand scale. Accordingly, it is highly recommended that you have up-to-date anti-virus software installed on your personal computer. The Australian National University holds a site license for the Sophos Anti-Virus product. This license extends to home use for any student or staff member, which means that you can install it on your home computer and/or laptop for free. Go to http://security.anu.edu.au/sophosinfo and in the left-hand menu you will find links to Sophos for Windows and Macs, as well as a link to their external website. |
