Off campus access to online services

Most ANU online services can be accessed from off campus over the web.

Access to some of the online services, however, is restricted to ANU staff and students. This could be because the information has licensing restrictions, as in the case of some commercial databases, or because the information is only relevant to people associated with the ANU.

In most cases, when you request a restricted page from off campus, you will simply be asked to verify that you are in fact a member of the ANU by entering your UniID and password. You will then automatically be allowed access to the page you requested. This will be the case with all Library pages and major ANU web pages.

However, some restricted online materials (typically those hosted by a College or Research School) will not be directly accessible in this way, but can only be accessed by first visiting a dedicated remote access point: http://virtual.anu.edu.au. There, you login by using your UniID and password, then type in the URL of the restricted page.
