Information Services Editor - Administrator Tasks

Overview

This page describes some of the typical tasks performed by staff with Administrator access to the information Services Editor.

Some of the instructions below refer to training modules.  Modules can be found at: http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/237.html

If you cannot see some of the options listed below you may need to change your role to Administrator using the Role menu.

Viewing file details

This is covered in the Author module Searching, Deleting and Managing under the topic Document options.

  1. Log into the Editor
(Select Edit in the footer of http://information.anu.edu.au/ and use Uni ID and OLAMS/HORUS password)
  2. Search for the document in question
  3. Show the document then select:
    1. Document Info: to view details like creation date and content owner
    2. Versions: to view all versions of the document
    3. Referrers: to view all pages that link to the document
  4. Always log out when finished (User>Logout)

(Select Edit in the footer of http://information.anu.edu.au/ and use Uni ID and OLAMS/HORUS password)
  2. Search for the document in question
  3. Show the document

Permanently delete content

Archival is preferred over permanent deletion because you cannot recover an item once it is permanently deleted.

Archival is covered in the Author module Searching, Deleting and Managing Content under the topic Document Options.

  1. Log into the Editor
(Select Edit in the footer of http://information.anu.edu.au/ and use Uni ID and OLAMS/HORUS password)
    • Search for the document in question
    • Show the document
    • Select Delete
    • Select the second option 'Permanently delete this document'
    • Always log out when finished (User>Logout)

Recover deleted files

This is covered in Guardian module Reviewing, Removing and Recovering Content under the topic Recovering Content.  You can only recover things that have been Archived, not things that have been permanently deleted.

Change global headers and footers and corporate styles

This can only be done by developers at this stage.  Log a Help Desk Job for CIS Web CO.
