LinkCheck

Overview

Sometimes people need to test their webpages, to make sure all the links are still up to date. The http://linkcheck.anu.edu.au/ service can do this.

This service is based upon software developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (the people who oversee the development of allWeb Standards).

Detailed documentation can be found at http://validator.w3.org/docs/checklink.html

Usage

Visit http://linkcheck.anu.edu.au/, and read the information and instructions. It will direct you to the http://linkcheck.anu.edu.au/cgi-bin/checklink page that can be used to test your site.

Enter the URL of your site, and hit the 'Check' button, it will search that page for broken links. Once the search is completed, the results will be displayed.

You can request that we perform regular tests of your site, in which case we will save the results on http://linkcheck.anu.edu.au/results, you can then look up the records of the link checks of your site.

This service is only available to web browsers on the ANU campus, and records of past regular checks, are also available only from on campus.
