ANU Thawte PKI ServiceThe Division of Information manages an Enterprise PKI on behalf of the University to issue Thawte security products, particularly SSL certificates for web servers or other services. LITSS can request certificates by submitting helpdesk jobs. Turn around for issuing a certificate is usually a couple of hours. You will be asked to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR), by creating private and public keys, and including information in the certificate about the ANU. You will need the following details, which must be entered EXACTLY including case-exact.
Once you have provided your CSR, the DoI will submit it to Thawte, and after they have processed it, we will provide you with the certificate. The DoI will pay on behalf of the LITSS and the LITSS will be asked for a charge account for cost recovery. The cost of a new SSL certificate under the Enterprise PKI is US$186.75, annual renewals are US$149.25. The Division of Information does not accept any liability for costs if you
request a certificate that does not work. If you are unsure, we can generate a
test certificate first. Make sure you back up |
