Systems Summary

The following are just some of the systems and sites used within the ANU. They are not all Enterprise Systems (refer to the definition of an Enterprise System).

ANUBIS

ANUBIS = ANU Business Information System. ANUBIS is a web based framework for business applications at the ANU. It offers a single point of authorised entry for many of the University's central web applications. Log in at http://anubis.anu.edu.au/.

ANZHEUG

ANZHEUG is an online community for PeopleSoft users in the Higher Education field. More information on ANZHEUG and how to participate is at http://anzheug.anu.edu.au/blog/?page_id=2 and http://anzheug.anu.edu.au/blog/?p=44.

APOLLO

ANU Polling Online is a tool that staff and postgraduate students can use to create and conduct web-based online polls (surveys, ballots, exams or forms) ... without having to necessarily know anything about programming or databases. APOLLO also has tools and reports that allow for the analysis of poll results (including exports to SPSS). All aspects of APOLLO can be done via the web, so there is no need to install any specific software on any computer (except a browser of course). The APOLLO User Guide (PDF) contains an overview of APOLLO's capabilities and instructions for using it. More detail is available via the online help within APOLLO.

ARIES

ANU Research Information Enterprise System (ARIES) is the Research Management System. For more information refer to: http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/971/984.html

Billboard

Billboard is the online repository for ANU news, events and classifieds. See http://billboard.anu.edu.au/ or the summary information on the Staff and Student pages.

Billboard is managed by the Marketing and Communications Division. See the Frequently Asked Questions page for more information or contact mac@anu.edu.au.

Boomer (WWW)

Boomer is the name of the web server used to host web pages that start with www.anu.edu.au. Information on using Boomer is available at: http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/23/345/1232.html.

Central Administrative Services (CAS)

CAS is a network that many administrative areas are on. Contact the DOI help desk for more information or refer to http://doi.anu.edu.au/sds/procedures.asp?ProcID=1.

Central Records System (CRS)

Central Records System (CRS) is a Records Management System. For more information refer to http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/971/972.html

Content Management System (CMS)

CMS is the tool used to manage web sites with a URL starting with info.anu.edu.au. Please see http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/118/790.html for more information.

DOI Help Desk

DOI Help Desk is a system that uses a product called RightNow. The DOI Help Desk has a client end that allows you to search for answers to problems, log requests or issues and keep track of your requests (see http://doihelpdesk.anu.edu.au). The admin interface can be used by staff to manage requests (see http://doihelpdesk.anu.edu.au/admin/).

ESP

ESP (Enterprise Solution Project) was the umbrella name used for the University's core administrative systems and included financials, facilities management, human resources and student administration systems. This project has been completed for many years and the systems are now referred to individually. More information is available at http://info.anu.edu.au/es/.

Experts List

GENESIS

GENESIS (Genetic Ethics Information System) is a register of recombinant DNA ethics protocols and is used to track the progress of research applications. GENESIS is used by Ethics officers in the Research Office (RO) and is maintained by the RO Business Solutions Office. For more information contact the RO http://www.anu.edu.au/ro/info/contact.php.

HORUS

HORUS (HR Online Remote User Services) is a web site where staff can view personal information on leave, pay etc. (http://horus.anu.edu.au).

HRECIS

HRECIS (Human Research Ethics Committee Information System) is a register of human ethics protocols and is used to track the progress of research applications. HRECIS is used by Ethics officers in the Research Office (RO) and is maintained by the RO Business Solutions Office. For more information contact the RO http://www.anu.edu.au/ro/info/contact.php.

Information Services Editor

Information Services Editor is the tool used to manage this site (information.anu.edu.au) - the product is called Daisy. For information on getting access to the editor see http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/23/345/110.html. ISIS

ISIS (Interactive Student Information Service) is a web site where students can access personal information like exam results (http://isis.anu.edu.au).

Mailman

GNU Mailman is a mailing list server that provides a web-based interface that allows list managers to configure their lists, and list members to manage their subscriptions. Only staff and graduate students of the University are able to request and manage mailing lists, but anyone can become a mailing list member (depending on the rules set by the list manager).

Mainframe Archive

The Mainframe Archive contains legacy data for the decommisioned mainframe systems ANUSIS, HRMS and Central Records. The archive itself exists as three separate applications available through ANUBIS at https://anubis.anu.edu.au/login.asp . The application Mainframe Archive ANUSIS contains legacy ANUSIS data; Mainframe Archive HR contains legacy HRMS data; Mainframe Archve CentRecs contains legacy Central Records data.

Maximo

Maximo is the University's Facilities Maintentance and Services System. For more information refer to http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/971/978.html.

Millennium

Millennium is the name of the tool used to manage the ANU library catalog - searchable at http://library.anu.edu.au/.

National Institutes

National Institutes is a web site at http://ni.anu.edu.au/ that is managed via the National Institutes module in ANUBIS. People can apply for membership of an institute via HORUS or ISIS. Those who manage the sites are called National Institute Executive Officers (NIEOs).

OLAMS

OLAMS (Online Account Management System) is a tool where you can manage your system/University ID account for services like email and disk quotas (http://olams.anu.edu.au).

Funnelback ANU Search (formerly Panoptic)

Funnelback is the ANU Search Engine used in sites such as http://www.anu.edu.au/mainsearch.php.

Raiser's Edge

Raiser's Edge is a tool used within Marketing and Communications to manage Alumni records. Contact Alumni Relations (http://info.anu.edu.au/mac/Alumni/index.asp).

Staff and Student Pages

Web sites available at staff.anu.edu.au and students.anu.edu.au are managed by Marketing and Communications via the Site Management Utility (SMU) module within ANUBIS. For more information see http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/118/786/787.html.

Study@ ANU

Study@ANU is a web site (http://studyat.anu.edu.au/) for Students that includes handbook information. The site is managed via the Content Management System and Student21. Contact Student Business Solutions (http://www.anu.edu.au/sas/sbs/index.php).

Timetable

Timetable is the Academic Timetabling Service System. For more information refer to http://information.anu.edu.au/daisy/infoservices/971/988.html

WebCT
