WebCT is the University's Learning Management System managed by Division of
Information.
WebCT (which stands for Web Course Tools) is an online environment used by
ANU Staff to provide electronic materials, activities and communication tools in
support of teaching and learning. It is usually used as an adjunct to the
face-to-face delivery of courses, enabling greater flexibility for students in
their learning.
WebCT is used by Students to access those materials, activities and tools.
A WebCT site is created for every course offered at the ANU each time it is
run. Staff can access the course site one month before the start of the session
(Semester 1, Semester 2, Summer, Winter, Spring) in which the course is
offered. All students formally enrolled in a course automatically have access to
the WebCT site, generally within 24 hours of enrolling but no more than a week
before the session starts.
The coordinator (convenor, chair of examiners) of a course should
automatically be the "Primary Designer" of the course WebCT site. The Primary
Designer has the ability to add or remove other "Designers"; also to add
Students who may be participating but not formally enrolled. If you are
responsible for a course but do not have access to the WebCT site, email your
name, University ID and Course Code
to timetabling@anu.edu.au and ask to
be made a course co-ordinator. WebCT access should be granted within about 3
days of this request.
Contact WebCTHelp@anu.edu.au for
