Online collaboration - Alliance

Alliance is an online collaboration environment that allows members of the ANU community to create online worksites using a range of tools such as announcements, calendars, forums and wikis. Worksites are password-protected and workgroup members can access their sites by logging into Alliance using their UniID and passphrase.

  • Students might build a site for a group assignment with a discussion board to assist with communication and resource sharing.
  • Research Students might use a site to communicate and share files with supervisors and other researchers from both within or outside ANU. You can create a site for Fieldwork and Travel where you can upload, store and access your files from anywhere.
  • Groups, such as clubs and societies, might use Alliance to communicate with members, post announcements, keep meeting notes, and share photos of activities.
  • A committee or selection panel might build a site to share reading materials, agendas and minutes, to discuss items outside meetings and to list meeting schedules.

Once an Alliance site is created, the site owner can invite other ANU staff and students to join. You can make your sites private, so that only the people that you invite can access the site, or they can be public, so that any member of the ANU community can join and contribute to your project or group. People outside the ANU can also join and contribute to Alliance sites if the site owner allows external access.

For more information and to login, visit the Alliance website.
